ISAT Spring Vibration Isolators

Spring Vibration Isolators for mechanical equipment.

Model FDS – Free Standing Spring Isolator

Application:

Model FDS spring mounts are recommended for use in isolating floor mounted sources of noise and vibration located near critically quiet areas. Model FDS spring mounts are typically used to reduce the transmission of noise and vibration from low speed mechanical equipment into a building structure.

Model FDS spring mounts are used in a wide range of applications: reciprocating air or refrigeration compressors, close coupled and base mounted pumps, packaged air handling and refrigeration equipment, centrifugal fans, internal combustion engines, and similar equipment. Model FDS Isolators are for use on equipment that is not subject to lateral forces such as wind.

Model FLS – Restrained Spring Isolator

Application:

Model FLS vertically restrained spring isolation mounts are recommended as a noise and vibration isolator for mechanical equipment located near critically quiet areas, when the equipment to be isolated has significant changes of weight during maintenance operations, and for equipment subjected to moderate external forces or wind loads.

Operating static deflections are available up to 4″ (102 mm) to compensate for long span flexible floor structures and maintain a high degree of noise and vibration isolation.

Model FLS

Model FRS – Restrained Spring Isolator

Application:

Model FRS vertically restrained spring isolation mounts are recommended as a noise and vibration isolator for mechanical equipment located near critical areas, when it is desired to limit upward travel during high wind loads, maintenance, or where external forces are brought to bear on the supported equipment.

Kinetics Model FRS spring isolators are recommended for the isolation of vibration produced by equipment subject to weight change or external forces, such as air-cooled condensers, fans, and other rooftop equipment. Model FRS springs are also recommended for the support of vertical pipe risers, where uplight motion must be limited, yet the riser isolated from the building. Operating static deflections are available up to 2.00″ (51 mm), in capacities of up to 3500 lbs. (1588 kg).

Model FMS – Modular Restraint/Isolator

Application:

Because of the extreme design flexibility of the modular concept, Kinetics Model FMS Seismic Restraint/ Vibration Isolators can be used effectively for large, heavy pieces of equipment in highly active seismic or wind prone areas as well as for more common applications in less active areas without financial consequence. The FMS is ideal for equipment mounted on structural frame or concrete inertia bases. As with any seismic restraint or vibration isolation device, direct mounting to light pieces of equipment may not be possible without an intermediate frame.

Because of the minimal vertical travel and near constant operating height, the FMS isolator is excellent for use on cooling towers, chillers, boilers or other equipment where the potential for wide weight variations during service is anticipated. With 4 in. (100 mm) deflection coils, these isolators are ideal for the isolation of sensitive equipment or for use in protecting long span flexible structures from induced vibrations.

Model FLSS – Seismic Control Restrained Spring Isolator

Application:

Model FLSS Seismic Control Restraint Spring Isolators are recommended as a noise and vibration isolator for mechanical equipment under the following conditions:

When the mechanical equipment is located above or near noise and vibration sensitive areas.
When the mechanical equipment is subjected to seismic events, high wind loads or other external forces.
When the equipment to be isolated has significant changes of weight due to fluid drainage during maintenance operations such as boilers, chillers and cooling towers.

Operating static deflections are available up to 4″ (100 mm) to maintain a high degree of noise and vibration control while compensating for long span flexible floor structures.

Model FLSS

Model FHS/FHSL – Seismic Control Spring Isolator

Application:

Model FHS and FHSL seismic control spring isolators are recommended for noise and vibration isolation for mechanical equipment located near critically quiet areas when there is a possibility that the equipment to be isolated will be subjected to the external forces associated with an earthquake. FHS/FHSL isolators are used to reduce the transmission of noise and vibration into supporting structures from supported mechanical equipment. Motion during an earthquake which would otherwise displace life support and emergency equipment is limited, and the equipment remains in position. Anchorage of FHS/FHSL isolators should be designed by a professional engineer and isolators selected based on calculated anticipated forces.
